Established in 1967

Our Legacy

Entembeni Old People’s Home was established in 1967 by a group of men who were leading the Bulawayo City Council at that time. These founders formed a trust and purchased land from the Bulawayo City Council to create a sanctuary for the elderly, specifically after discovering that many destitute individuals—largely immigrants who had come to Zimbabwe in the 1940s to work—were left without support.

Today, the institution is managed by a voluntary Board of Trustees. The facility currently focuses on geriatric care, often managing the daily challenges that come with supporting elderly residents.
